MISSION
We serve God best by serving others
Our mission is to serve and work with the residents and other stakeholders to make the West End and the Greater High Point area a safer and better place for all who live, learn, work or worship. West End Ministries could not operate without community partners and the generous support of the community.
objectives
West End Ministries will:
- - work in a collaborative manner with partners across the city, county, and state to develop and implement programs that provide both short-term solutions and long-term sustainability to neighbors in the West End and greater High Point community.
- - work alongside residents to engender relationships that support them in a way which helps them empower themselves to confront and overcome their barriers, taking ownership of their own betterment.
- - continue to work more intentionally to ensure that our programs cultivate a relationship with residents, through which they allow us to come alongside them as a resource and support system rather than as a crutch.
history
In July 2000, area pastors and lay members from English Road Baptist Church, Christ’s Community Church, and Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church met to share ideas for a neighborhood ministry. West End Ministries was incorporated as a North Carolina nonprofit agency on September 12, 2001 and received 501(c)(3) status from the IRS on February 3, 2003. West End Ministries began as a grass roots movement and has grown into a multi-dimensional outreach program committed to improving the quality of life and providing resources to countless underprivileged citizens in the West End and greater High Point community.
