women's winter shelter
needs and details
Through a collaborative effort of several churches and community partners, High Point's first Winter Women's Shelter opened on the campus of West End Ministries in February 2020. The Women's Winter Shelter was birthed by prayer after the need became apparent. With Leslie's House remaining consistently full, concerned citizens gathered, raised necessary funds, arranged volunteers and operational needs. When there is a need, a list will be posted below as well as a meal sign-up (click here for meal sign-up). If it is easier, you can designate a gift to the Women's Winter Shelter by clicking here and we will shop on your behalf for meals or needs.
The goal of the Women's Winter Shelter is to offer a safe, warm, loving and helpful place to sleep and receive nutrition, encouragement and case management. The women are given a clean bed, three meals and care. Toiletries and other helpful items are provided as well as referrals.
The Shelter operates yearly, (November 30, 2025--March 31, 2026) and is open to women, without dependents, ages 18 years of age and older. It offers 20 emergency shelter beds and hope.

PROVIDE MEALS
The Winter Shelter has opened. If you would like to help with meals, please sign up by clicking here. We ask for a hot meal for 20 women delivered by 5:00 pm each night. You will pass the stairs of the Community Center and turn right just past the brick building to drop off the food in the back door of the kitchen. Thank you.
provide toiletries, other needs
The Winter Shelter will have periodic needs which will be shared on this website and social media. Thank you for thinking of us.
VOLUNTEER
The Winter Shelter is now open. Other than providing a hot meal, as noted above, if volunteer needs arise, they will be posted here. We invite you to pray with us for 2025-2026.
